Around this time of year, LIRS co-directors usually attend our Foundation’s Sydney and Melbourne dinners, updating our supporters on research undertaken at the Station. With LIRS closed to researchers since mid-March, Dr Anne Hoggett and Dr Lyle Vail join us by video, sharing their observations of recent bleaching and coral recovery around Lizard Island.
This video shows the state of the reef at Lizard Island in April 2020 and outlines events during the past decade that have affected it – Crown-of-Thorns Starfish outbreaks, cyclones and coral bleaching. For best results, increase the resolution in settings.
Thanks for your summary of the recent events. So many of us appreciate your hard work and research.
Thank you so much! Your work is so important and seems very unrepresented. How has no one appreciated your services? Who should I call? Just the girl who took swimming lessons at Lake Tetonka in the 70’s.
Excellent Video, you do such a good job, thank goodness it’s a better forcast ,for now at least.
Lovely to hear your voices and see your LIRF update, thank you.
Many thanks for this very clear update and your continuing research.
