The Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships Program (Fellowships Program) at Lizard Island Research Station (LIRS) has been running since 1984, when Doctoral Fellowships were first offered, followed by Postdoctoral Fellowships introduced in 2008. They are awarded annually, and over this time 133 Fellowships have been awarded.

These Fellowships provide a rare and valuable opportunity for both early career scientists and PhD candidates to develop their research skills, and careers, and offer a unique opportunity to collaborate with other marine scientists.

This independently run evaluation was suggested and funded by The Ian Potter Foundation, a major supporter of doctoral fellowships at LIRS. Click here to download a brief summary of the report.
